An army that in a few years later was capable of achieving remarkable successes in confronting Iranian’s kingdom enemies with the help of assaulting and defending weaponries. His substitutes also in both assaulting and defending wars were able to defeat the enemies based on different war situations with the help of various weapons. For instance in confrontations with the Romans who had assaulted the Iranians borders and had retreated to their castles to defend their achievements, the Iranians had mostly usually surmounted the Romans making use of catapults and portcullis-knockers to go through their hindrances. Also, Iranians had achieved significant successes over the Turkish army and the eastern desert-dwellers people. These successes originated from different factors such as enough military forces, various excerpts from former Iranians governments and other nations’ weaponry system, creativity in producing weapons, suitable workshops for producing weapons, powerful army maneuver, powerful domestic weaponry system and powerful horseback riding forces. The author of the present study seeks to introduce the weaponry system of the Sasani kingdom and their use of this armament in the battlefields. It has been attempted to apply accurate sources of the Sasanians’ period in order to gather terse and precise information. اردشیر اول بنیانگذار شاهنشاهی ساسانی پس از آن که حکومت ملوک الطوایف - اشکانی – را برانداخت به تشکیل ارتشی منظم و نیرومند روی آورد ارتشی که سال های بعد توانست به کمک ابزار و آلات تعرضی و دفاعی درجدال با دشمنان ایران زمین به موفقیت های در خور توجهی دست پیدا کنند. جانشینان او هم در جنگ های تهاجمی و هم در جنگ های دفاعی قادر بودند تا به کمک سلاح های متنوع جنگی بسته به شرایط رزمی در برخورد با دشمنان خود در مکان های مختلف فنونی خاص به کار گیرند به گـونه ای که در جدال با رومیان که در تهاجمات خود به سر حدات و نواحی داخلی ایران پس از هجوم و یغماگری عقب نشینی اختیار کرده و همواره در قلاع مستحکم خود آرایش دفاعی می گرفتنددر جهت تسخیر قلاع آنها از طریق منجنیق و دژکوب عمل کنند و در بسیاری از مواردی برآن ها پیروز شوند و یا در جنگ با ترکان و اقوام بیابانگرد شرقی به پیروزی های قابل قبولی دست یابند که این امر محصول موارد مختلفی چون نیروی انسانی لازم، اقتباسات از ابزارآلات جنگی از دیگر ملل و حکومت های پیشین ایران،  ابداعات جدیددر زمینه اسلحه سازی، کارگاه های مناسب (جهت اسلحه سازی)، توان و مانور بالای نظامی، افزار جنگی بومی و سواره نظام نیرومند و قوی بوده است. هدف نویسنده در این پژوهش مختصر اطلاعات داده شده در موردد جنگ ابزارهای این دوره و نحوه ی به کارگیری آنها توسط ساسانیان در میادین جنگ می باشد که حتی الامکان سعی شده از منابع معتبر مربوط به این دوره برداشت گردد. https://pdtsj.ut.ac.ir/article_70731_38c14661ebeae94d15453ad15f2ca57f.pdf
